Research Center of Blockchain Solutions Strengthens International Cooperation: Outcomes of Visit to the University of Luxembourg
On 25–26 November 2025, the Director of the Research Center of Blockchain Solutions, Professor Igor Dunayev, took part in two key academic events organized by the University of Luxembourg. The visit was a significant step in strengthening international cooperation and promoting the Center’s research in the field of digital identity and Web 4.0 technologies.
On 25 November 2025, Professor Igor Dunayev made a speech at the second specialized workshop “Virtual Ownership,” organized by the interdisciplinary BRIDGES group with the support of the University of Luxembourg’s Institute for Advanced Studies.
Among the participants were leading European researchers in the fields of digital property, information law, philosophy of technology, and data economics. One of the main goals of the event was to discuss the future of ownership in the digital space through the lens of law, economics, philosophy, and technology.
As part of the program, the professor presented the report “Tokenised Reputation as Digital Property: Bridging Virtual and Real-World Ownership & Intentions Through Blockchain-Based Identity Capital,” in which he highlighted the results of implementing technologies that promote the realization of the self-sovereign identity principle in the Bitbon System.

Particular attention from the audience was drawn to aspects related to the use of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) approaches in combination with the requirements of European data protection legislation, including full GDPR compliance, the principles of data minimization, and privacy-by-design in blockchain architecture.
We would like to express our special gratitude to the workshop organizers — Dr. Katrin Becker, Dr. Reka Markovich, and Leonardo Romano — for the high quality of the event and for creating conditions for productive academic exchange.
On 26 November 2025, Professor Igor Dunayev spoke at the meeting of LURN-15, the Luxembourg–Ukrainian Research Network, where he presented the report “The State in Web 4.0 Era: Conceptual Challenges of Our Time and Transformations in Reputational Digital Systems.”
The event was organized with the participation of LURN volunteers and the network’s leadership: Executive Secretary O.M. Kiryukhina, Co-Chair Professor O.V. Aleksandrov, and Academic Mentor Dr. Inna Gandshou. We express our sincere gratitude to the organizers for their comprehensive support and the high level at which the event was held.
As a result of the visit, business and academic ties with representatives of European research centers were significantly strengthened. Partners received extensive information about the Center’s current developments and expressed genuine interest in further scientific collaboration.
Looking ahead, the formation of international research consortia is planned to participate in Horizon Europe programs, primarily in the areas of digital humanism and Web 4.0 technologies. This opens up new opportunities for expanding international cooperation and integrating Ukrainian scientific developments into the European research space.
