The Research Center Supported the Social Book-Crossing Project in the Tsyrkuny Local Community
On May 2, 2024, the Research Center of Blockchain Solutions, together with the Rotary Club “Kharkiv Renaissance” (https://rotary-renaissance.org.ua/en/main/) and the leaders of the Tsyrkuny local community of the Kharkiv region, began implementing the first social project “Social Book-Crossing” for all residents of the Tsyrkuny local community. Currently, both local children and adults of all ages have the opportunity to read and exchange quality and up-to-date literature of various genres for free. Together, we have purchased, collected, and transferred to Tsyrkuny over 150 new books from various Ukrainian publishers. We expect that residents will indeed follow the principle of “take a book and return it to the shelf when you finish reading it”.
We believe that this project will bring back the slightly lost feeling of joy from reading interesting literature at home and further stimulate discussion of reading both within families and with friends at the local children’s development center.
This idea was initiated and quickly implemented specifically for the second anniversary of the liberation of the Tsyrkuny local community in the Kharkiv region, which took place on May 5, 2022. The center will continue to support this social project by providing contemporary books in Ukrainian and English to encourage local residents to read genuine and quality printed literature as well as to motivate kids and adults not to spare any effort in mastering new modern knowledge and professions in the digital environment for the sake of active Ukraine’s modernization.
And, of course, this social project is our small contribution to the recovery of the Kharkiv region and to fostering caring and responsible behavior of people based on knowledge and their own minds, rather than only emotions and advice from others.
