Ukrainian Agri-Tech Startup Agrobon Completes Participation in the European Agri-Technology Development Program EIT Food Challenge Labs 2025
The Agrobon startup project, developed on the basis of the Bitbon System infrastructure, was selected to participate in the European program EIT Food Challenge Labs 2025, implemented by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The training program was designed with real business challenges and international practices in mind and ran from September to November 2025 as part of an initiative to support Ukrainian agricultural micro-projects (RIS KAVA #18253-23). The aim of the program was to help Ukrainian agri-food companies enter the European market, implement innovations, and enhance their competitiveness. On 29 November 2025, the Agrobon startup project successfully completed its participation in the EIT Food Challenge Labs 2025 program.
The program also covered the key aspects of developing agri-tech startups and bringing them to the European market. Participants worked on topics such as scaling agricultural projects in the EU and Ukraine, regulatory frameworks, corporate partnerships, the application of AI in the agricultural sector, and fundraising strategies. The training included intensive workshops and individual mentoring sessions with industry experts.
The program involved the personal participation of Professor Igor Dunayev, Director of the Research Center of Blockchain Solutions, as well as Simcord’s qualified specialists. The most substantive discussions took place during the validation sessions held in November 2025.
Agrobon is a next-generation sector specific agri-marketplace aimed at modernizing agricultural trade through technological solutions implemented on the basis of the Bitbon System infrastructure. The platform uses mechanisms for tokenizing commercial obligations for agricultural products of future harvests, provides confirmation of the parties’ readiness to fulfill agreements between the farmer, the buyer, and the insurance company, and supports automated escrow payments and reputation-based guarantees.
Moreover, the System provides consolidation of verified data required for ESG reporting and creates a direct “farmer–consumer” interaction channel, eliminating intermediaries and ensuring secure and guaranteed settlements through Bitbon System solutions.
Participation in EIT Food Challenge Labs 2025 enabled the project team to establish important professional contacts with European agri-technology experts, industry representatives, and potential investors. In 2026, the team plans to actively leverage the connections gained with mentors to expand the presence of the Agrobon project in the markets of the European Union.
